Lifestyle

  • An average of 300 days of sunshine per annum
  • 60 top class golf courses on its doorstep, including the 1997 Ryder Cup course at Valderrama which is only 20 minutes from Gibraltar .
  • A wide range of sports, including tennis, sailing, polo, diving, shooting, horse riding and skiing, all within easy reach of Gibraltar.

The combination of Gibraltar¹s climate, location and lifestyle is unequalled anywhere else in Europe. Apart from the obvious advantages, Andalucia¹s finest cities and resorts are within easy reach. Alternatively, the tantalising mystique of Morocco is just one and a half hour away by ferry. Rock solid Gibraltar is truly a stepping stone to the world.

Gibraltar is not an island

Gibraltar's frontier with neighbouring Spain provides access to the rest of Europe by road, as well as by air from Malaga International Airport. An estimated 3,500 people cross the frontier each day to work in Gibraltar. Many of these are Spaniards who work in the retail sector. The figure also includes around 500 expatriates who work in the Rock's financial sector, some of whom are based in the prestigious residential area of Sotogrande. Despite its small size Gibraltar, like the City of London, has its own commuter belt in the Spanish hinterland. This brings together various advantages for both business and leisure activities for those who operate from the Rock.
