What will drive the markets this week?
Stocks closed modestly higher on Friday, notching some fresh records amid optimism over the prospects of vaccines for Covid-19 which continue to spike in Europe and the US.
US markets seem to have stabilized without the uncertainty of the election hanging over them, and news of the approval of the Pfizer and BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine which has turned out more effective than expected is likely to drive trading this week.
This week investors will be looking at the upcoming Brexit deadline, the U.S. housing market, and earnings from several companies including computer chips producer Nvidia and big retailers Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and other companies.
